Another Widening Project Planned for I-65

Get ready for more traffic headaches along Interstate 65 in southern Williamson County.  The Tennessee Department of Transportation is planning a $46 million widening project on I-65 from State Route 840 to the Peytonsville Road/Goose Creek Bypass exit.  The project is scheduled to start October 20, 2013 and is expected to finish June 15, 2016.  Deanna Lambert with TDOT says this will be two projects in one.  One part will be expanding I-65 from two lanes to four lanes in each direction.  The other is completely overhauling the Goose Creek Bypass to make it an eight lane bridge with dual left turning lanes similar to the McEwen bypass in Franklin.  To learn more about the widening project and watch an animation of what the new expansion will look like, click the video above.
