Trivago Spokesperson Tim Williams Launches Country Album

Tim Wiliams

Tim Williams, the emerging Country/Americana artist that has one of the most recognizable faces and voices in the industry serving as the spokesperson for Trivago across North American for five years, shifts from acting to music with the pre-sale launch of his new project Magnolia City. Magnolia City will be available on all online retailers on September 28, but fans can pre-order the project on iTunes and Google Play today instantly receiving the title track and If I’d Known You Then when they pre-order on iTunes.

“This single and album are about my longing for Houston, my family and the sixteen years I’ve spent living in Berlin,” says Tim. “My stories of travel, my stories of love and relationships and losses all wound up in these ten songs. I wanted to launch the pre-sale and single this week to honor my hometown of Houston as this week will mark the 182 anniversary of when Houston was founded. There is no place I long for more than that city.”

Produced by Norbert Hamm, the incredible producer behind Herbert Gronemeyer Germany’s most successful artist with more than 13 million albums sold, Magnolia City will feature ten songs all chronicling a chapter in Tim’s life and the experiences he’s gained traveling the globe as an actor and spokesperson.  Paying homage to the storytelling roots of country that once ruled the airplay charts, Tim’s album rides the fine line between Americana’s grit and Country’s polish and honesty that finds him connecting with audiences in a whole new medium.

“I’ve known Tim as a friend for many years,” says Producer Norbert Hamm. “When he told me that he wanted to record a country album, I instantly agreed because my musical career actually started with a country band in Germany. Tim and I clicked immediately writing songs together and I look forward to working with this incredibly talented artist again.”

Tim’s interest in acting and music began in high school frequenting drama classes and learning to play guitar. Originally influenced by the music that his older sister Lisa had introduced to the household — Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, Williams would find himself diving into the country scene after watching the John Travolta hit movie Urban Cowboy – a movie showcasing the music of Mickey Gilley, Charlie Daniels and Bonnie Raitt. After high school, he moved to New York City to pursue acting landing roles in My So-Called Life, Law and Order, The Sopranos, Strong Medicine, and more. An opportunity arose for a feature film in Germany and Tim made the bold move even before he was able to speak their language. He would quickly become fluent in German and gained recurring roles on German TV, Samt und Seide and Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten, among others. On the big screen, he appeared in Valkyrie, Ninja Assassin, The Apparition and Labyrinth of Lies. In 2013, he landed what was originally a voice-over role for the German based travel company Trivago. The company quickly recognized his value and put him in front of the camera as the face of their North America marketing campaign, a role that he has embraced and welcomed for five years. This father of two decided to re-ignite his passion for music and recorded a country project, an ode to his birthplace, titled Magnolia City that will be premiering on September 28, 2018.
