Matthew Perryman Jones is one of over 100 performers that will hit the stage, or porch, at this year’s Porchfest, at the Westhaven community in West Franklin. Jones will play a porch beginning at 5:00pm on Cheltenham Avenue.
Jones began his career in 1997 in Decatur, Georgia, and shortly after came to Nashville, releasing his first solo, Nowhere Else But Here, in 2000. Jones voice calls out with intensity, truth and emotion, and has been described by American Songwriter, as “a voice that ensnares listeners with a rare authenticity and gritty strength.”
Jones’ latest release, Land Of The Living, written just after the passing of his father is a described as “a courageous personal odyssey through life’s most troubled waters of love and loss.”
Jones continues to dominate the Nashville music scene and remains one of the most sought-after performers in the city.
