A scammer took $100 from a cashier at Marco’s Pizza in Spring Hill at 3015 Belshire Drive on Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m.
Spring Hill Police are looking for anyone who recognizes the scammer.
“The person puts money on the counter and asked for change and after some back-and-forth, usually in these cases, the scammer ends up with more money than they put down,” SHPD public information officer Lt. Justin Whitwell said. “It is a lot of quick hands and back-and-forth. We have not found the suspect and we are still seeking his identification. It tends to happen with less experienced cashiers, more veteran cashiers know the scam and are able to stop it.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact the SHPD at 931-486-2632.
