Scene Around Town : Hillary Scott from Lady Antebellum Visits Lifeway

Hillary Scott from Lady Antebellum visited the Lifeway Cool Springs store on Saturday with the Scott family to celebrate the release of their new album Love Remains.

During a Q&A with the family, Hillary talked about why she chose to record a Christian album with her very musically talented family.

Scott went on to talk about how Love Remains first came out of a desire to show a deeper side of  herself stating,”My faith and my family are pillars and the foundation of where I come from and what I believe, so it was important to me to show more about myself. ”

But the main catalyst for the album was Scott’s grandfather, who was almost like a second dad. He took care of Hillary and her sister while her parents were on tour with Reba McEntire, she explained. After the loss of her grandfather to cancer, her father, Lang Scott, came to Hillary and asked if she would be interested in making a CD for those who supported them on Caring Bridge.

“The spiritual growth and the  family bond that deepened through this process of making this record, after all of that -the blessings were exponentially more that all of the hardships we endured,” said Scott.

When asked about her favorite places in the area, Scott gave a shout out to Five Daughters Bakery at The Factory in Franklin. But says if you have never been to Nashville then you have to visit  The Opry or the Bluebird Cafe.

Hillary Scott and the Scott Family will make their network family debut on “Good Morning America” on Tuesday, August 2. Love Remains is available now on iTunes and Lifeway Christian store in Cool Springs.

A surprise for those in attendance was when Hillary Scott and the Scott Family sang the first track from Love Remains – “Beautiful Messes” which you can watch a portion of that performance below.
