The Glass Touch Closes in The Factory at Franklin

The Glass Touch

Located next to Five Daughter Bakery, The Glass Touch in The Factory in Franklin closed for business on September 12.

A sign was placed on the door stating, “Our last day of business will be Thursday, 9-12-19. Thank you for all support and patronage over the last ten years.”

The Glass TouchThe store specialized in the repair and restoration of stained and decorative glass, lamp and lighting fixtures, and electrical and mechanical clocks. They also held art classes where you can learn the basics of stained glass.

Owner Otto Sorg began his business in Michigan before moving to Tennessee. He spent his professional life as a glass artist and repairer. At one point, he owned a small appliance repair shop. Due to an illness which limits his daily functions, Sorg is selling his business, states the shop’s website. Sorg adds he would help the new owner with training and transition of the business as they are one of the few lighting and lamp repair shops in the area.
