The Viking Store at 230 Franklin Road is closing next month. The store offered a cooking event program that was popular in the area and provided first class cooking ranges and equipment to the community.
In December of 2012 the Viking Range Corporation was acquired by The Middleby Corporation, a global leader in food service equipment. According to the Associated Press, the new owner is laying off more than one-fifth of the companies workers. Stores in Memphis, TN and Mississippi have already announced closure.
