How long have you lived in Williamson County?
Dan and I moved to middle Tennessee in the early ‘80s, and to Williamson County in 1998, with our three children, Becky, Bradshaw and Justin. We made the decision that I would set my career aside and focus full-time on raising our kids. Dan launched the first of his three companies, Publishing Group of America, in 1999.

What have you done, past and/or present, to serve the community in Franklin and Williamson County?
I jumped head first into their public schools, starting with Kenrose Elementary, which had just opened. I helped form the first Parent-Teacher Association Board there, and then continued volunteering at Woodland Middle. I later served for nine years on the Ravenwood High School PTO Board (four as president), created the countywide PTO Leadership Council in 2010, and then was appointed to the Williamson County School Board in January 2013.
Over the years, I’ve served our church and various non-profits, and recently helped launch the Williamson County Republican Women group. In 2014, I was a candidate for the Tennessee House of Representatives in District 63.

What did you learn from serving on the Williamson County School Board?
I saw first-hand the way a dedicated community – teachers, students, staff, parents, business leaders – can work as one to make a public education system excel.
The most poignant takeaway from my time on the School Board was the joy and significance of serving the families, teachers and staff by setting aside personal agendas and working together for the betterment of the whole. I had served the School Board in many other capacities, but that really magnified to me how their focused work directly affects many thousands of students. I hold that experience in great esteem, and am humbled and honored by both the opportunity I was given and the confidence that was placed in me.

How will you apply your knowledge and experience to your new position with Aspen Grove?
Looking back on the last almost 20 years of service to the community, and coupling that with the business acumen derived from my time in the corporate world, then using those accounting and finance skills in so many volunteer and non-profit initiatives, I have experienced the results of walking with integrity and honesty. It’s the simple principles of working hard, fiscal conservatism, building substantive and sincere personal relationships, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining an on-going commitment to serve and give back to the community.
Dave Crouch and I are very like-minded in all of those areas, and thus we complement each other well. I believe our partnership will strongly exemplify and demonstrate all of those qualities. That will translate to our business relationships, and the trust that people place in us to help manage their financial security.
