Prince’s Hot Chicken Coming South

No more driving to Nashville for Prince’s Hot Chicken. After serving famous hot chicken for 70 years in Nashville, Prince’s is expanding to the south, reports Eater Nashville.

With a tentative date of September 5th, Prince’s Chicken will occupy the former Thi3rd Base Sports Bar near the corner of Old Hickory Blvd and Nolensville Pike.

The new location will be known as Prince’s South, serving the famous hot chicken with plans to serve beer as well.

Unlike the Nashville location which is cash only, Prince’s South will accept debit/credit cards. Seating for the new location will be able to serve up to 100 guests with room for an additional 30 on the patio.

In recent years, Nashville has received attention for its hot chicken. Prince’s was one of the first to serve hot chicken. The story told is that Thornton Prince, who had earned a reputation as a ladies’ man, was served fried chicken doused in hot pepper as punishment after one of his many long nights out. Although his wife served the scalding dish as a punishment, Prince liked it and perfected the recipe.
