There were many phenomenal offensive performances in Week 8. We take on the excruciating task of figuring out which ones were the best five.
5. Camron Johnson, wide receiver, Brentwood Academy
The Vanderbilt commitment was a best on Friday night, hauling in six catches for 176 yards and three scores. Brentwood Academy routed McCallie, 46-24, on the road.
4. Carson Shacklett, quarterback, Brentwood
Surprise! Carson Shacklett made the list, again. On Friday, Shacklett was nearly perfect, hitting 17-of-20 throws for 310 yards and two touchdowns. He carried 10 times for just 12 yards, but two of those were touchdowns, also. Brentwood is now 7-1 after a 42-21 win over Father Ryan. You may see Shacklett’s highlights from that game on his Hudl page here.
3. Noah Henderson, wide receiver, Christ Presbyterian Academy
Henderson has come up with some huge games lately for CPA. On Friday, he caught 11 passes for 172 yards and two scores, ran once for 13 yards, and returned a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown. CPA is now 6-2 for the season. Henderson has posted highlights from that game to his Hudl page, and you may see them here.
2. Tai Carter, running back, Summit
Tai Carter has been huge for Summit all year. On Friday, Carter was huge again, playing through pain down the stretch with the Spartans’ game with Shelbyville Central. The senior rushed 23 times for 248 yards and four touchdowns in a 47-37 victory.
1. Tomario Pleasant, running back, Brentwood Academy
Brentwood Academy got monster offensive performances from Camron Johnson, Gavin Schoenwald and Tomario Pleasant in Friday’s 46-24 win over McCallie. All three played well enough to garner consideration, and to break the tie, we’ll defer to the BA coaches, who named Pleasant their Offensive Player of the Week. Pleasant carried 16 times for 241 yards and three touchdowns in Week 8.
