Franklin Special School District Director of Schools Dr. David Snowden announced today that Charles Arnold has been hired as Associate Director for Finance and Administration with an official start date of December 1, 2017.
The post was previously occupied for the past 13 years by John McAdams, who retired in October. “We are excited to welcome Mr. Arnold to the FSSD,” Snowden said. “He brings extensive experience in the areas of educational and other governmental finances. He will most definitely be an asset to the FSSD Leadership Team.”
Arnold served in a similar position in the Murfreesboro City Schools for over eight years from 1999 to 2007. His more recent experience has been as the chief financial officer for Dawson McAllister Association, a not-for-profit organization located in Spring Hill, Tennessee.
Mr. Arnold has also served as the chief financial officer for the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation. He also served as Director of Financial Management for six years with the Tennessee Department of Health and Environment.
Working directly under the Director of Schools, Arnold will oversee the work of all finance and administrative departments, including transportation, maintenance/landscaping, student health, human resources, MAC extended care, safety, and child nutrition.
Arnold’s degree is in Business Administration (Accounting) from Middle Tennessee State
University and is a Certified Public Accountant.
