Scout’s Barbershop, a beloved Nashville-born salon known for its inclusive, walk-in vibe and community-centered ethos, is bringing its signature style to Canteen on Carothers, a mixed-use destination poised to bring new energy to the Cool Springs and Franklin area. The newest location – which marks Scout’s eighth in the Nashville region – is expected to open this fall.

Founded in 2013, Scout’s Barbershop was Nashville’s first unisex, walk-in barbershop and has since become a staple across the city’s most popular neighborhoods, including East Nashville, Sylvan Park, the Gulch, Germantown, and Wedgewood-Houston. With a motto of “a place for everybody,” Scout’s offers a laid-back atmosphere where guests are greeted with a complimentary local craft beer or sparkling water and a welcoming, neighborhood vibe. Each location is intentionally designed to reflect the character of the community it serves.

The decision to open the next location at Canteen on Carothers was a long time coming for Scout’s leadership team. “Cool Springs has been on our dream board for a while,” said Brooke Allison, founder of Scout’s Barbershop. “We’ve been intentional about growing in places where we feel we can truly be a part of the community, and the makeup of the entire Canteen development felt like the right fit from the start.”

Developed by Stockbridge Capital Group and leased by Foundry Commercial, Canteen on Carothers is a vibrant, walkable destination that blends office, retail, and culinary experiences in the heart of Franklin. With outdoor community spaces and a carefully curated tenant lineup, the development offers the type of energy that Scout’s leadership says makes it easy to envision future activations – like live music, family-friendly events, and casual interactions with the Cool Springs community.

“This area is a natural extension of our presence in the region. It fits really well geographically with our other locations,” added Allison. “The tenant mix at Canteen was also a big draw for us. There’s going to be a buzz here that we’re excited to be part of.”

The new location will feature approximately 1,166 square feet and be home to eight stylists’ chairs. Once open, the Cool Springs location will join other Scout’s Barbershop locations throughout Middle Tennessee, as well as the company’s growing presence in Chattanooga.
