On Wednesday morning, Spring Hill city officials, community leaders and members of the community gathered to celebrate the opening of Chick-fil-A at 4885 Main Street.
As a remembrance to the Silo which once stood on the site of the current Chick-fil-A location, a plaque was unveiled stating, “In Memory of Spring Hill Silo – ?- December 2017 – On this site once stood a silo of dubious historical significance”
Spring Hill City Mayor Rick Graham shared the entire story of how he petitioned for Chick-fil-A to choose Spring Hill as its next location. Graham told the crowd he was constantly asked when the city would get a Chick-fil-A. He even referenced a Garth Brooks song, “Shameless” in his efforts to bring the eatery to Spring Hill.
“My first letter to Chick-fil-A in Atlanta. I said God intended for a Chick-fil-a to be here…” The Mayor even attended Chick-fil-A school in Atlanta where he learned the ins-and-outs of Chick-fil-A.
After the official ribbon cutting, a first taste tradition was carried out. Each person involved in the ribbon cutting received a Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich and all took an orchestrated first bite.
