The 21st annual Williamson County Fair will host the Hometown Heroes Recognition Ceremony on August 9 at 10:30 a.m. on the Nissan Stage. The event, presented by Atmos Energy, aims to recognize nominated Williamson County veterans who have not only served their country but also continue to give back to the local community through service. These acts could include serving family, businesses, churches, schools, community or our country in a way that makes them better and improves the lives of those around them.
“This is a special tradition that reminds us of the great sacrifice these veterans have made for our country,” said Diane Giddens, Program Chair. “We are honored to recognize a few of these veterans through our Hometown Heroes Program for their continued commitment to our local community. We encourage fairgoers to attend in support and appreciation.”
During the ceremony, attendees can enjoy a performance by The Gibson Girls, presented by The Gary Sinise Foundation. These talented sisters will deliver a dynamic performance featuring classic songs and choreographed dance. The event will also feature Brigadier General Kurt Winstead (Ret.) as the keynote speaker.
Additionally, the final day of the 2025 fair is marked as Patriot Day. On August 9, all active and retired military individuals will receive free admission with a military ID. This special day is proudly presented by Buerger, Moseley and Carson, LLC.
