Nolensville hung with Page for part of the first half, but the Patriots were too strong in a 43-13 win over the Knights at Page on Friday.

Quarterback Jacob Van Landingham scored two touchdowns and running back Bubba Johnson scored three for the Patriots (2-0).

Behind Van Landingham, Page started to pull away in the second half. The senior plunged in from a yard out on a quarterback sneak for a 29-10 Patriot lead.

After a Jackson Satterfield interception minutes later, Johnson scored his third touchdown of the night.

A field goal and a Luke Bowers touchdown accounted for the final margin.

Van Landingham got the Patriots on the board first with a 7-yard run on a quarterback draw with 5:29 left in the first quarter.

But Nolensville (0-2) answered when quarterback Brandon Wharton countered with a quarterback draw of his own later in the quarter.

The Knights then recovered their own onside kick and got a Luke Jenkins field goal, but Page’s Johnson scored on a 15-yard run.

A bad snap on a Nolensville punt went for a Page safety and a 16-7 advantage.

Then, a 15-yard touchdown run by Johnson put the Patriots up 22-10 after a missed 2-point conversion. That score was set up by a punt return by Page’s Michael Burdick.

That score held at the break.

Burdick, who had three interceptions last week, added his fourth of the year in the first half.

Nolensville visits Spring Hill next week, while Page hosts Franklin County.
