Independence High Theater Presents Radium Girls

The Independence High School Theater Department is making history come to life in its fall production of Radium Girls, opening September 25, 2025.

Set in 1926, the play tells the true story of Grace Fryer, a young dial painter, as she battles the U.S. Radium Corporation after she and her fellow workers begin to suffer from radium poisoning. At a time when radium was hailed as a miracle cure; Madame Curie was an international celebrity; and luminous watches were the height of fashion, Fryer’s fight became a landmark moment in workplace safety and women’s rights.

Tickets cost $14.10 and may be purchased online. The show opens September 25 and runs through September 28.
