1Bluegrass at the Bird

The Tennessee Woodpile is hosting Bluegrass at the Bird this weekend with Slocan Ramblers. The Slocan Ramblers were featured on the Grand Ole Opry,
IBMA Momentum Band of the Year Award Winner & Juno Award Nominee,
are Canada’s bluegrass band to watch. Rooted in tradition, fearlessly creative
and possessing a bold, dynamic sound, The Slocans have become a leading
light of today’s acoustic music scene.

2Nature Fest

Bowie Nature Park, 7211 Bowie Lake Drive, Fairview

Enjoy a fun-filled day at Nature Fest! Come meet animals looking for their forever homes at the Williamson County Animal Center mobile pet adoption unit, browse unique finds from craft vendors, bounce houses, hayrides, petting zoo, exhibitors, live music, food trucks and more!

3Westhaven Porchfest

Saturday, September 20, noon- 5 pm

Westhaven Neighborhood, 1564 Westhaven Boulevard, Franklin

It’s an annual event in the Westhaven neighborhood in Franklin. See artists performing on different porches like Cody Howell, John Sullivan and more. See the complete daytime schedule here. 

The day ends with a concert featuring Monster of Yacht and The Deltaz. Tickets are required to the evening event, find tickets here. 

4Franklin Suzuki Academy Performance

Brentwood Library, 8109 Concord Road, Brentwood

Enjoy a morning of beautiful music performed by students from the Franklin Suzuki Academy, a not-for-profit music school in Williamson County offering Suzuki music instruction. All instructors use the teaching methods of renowned Japanese pedagog, Shinichi Suzuki. Features include parent involvement during school lessons and at home, constant repetition, and learning music by ear. The academy offers instruction in violin, viola, and cello for pre-school through high school students.

During this free performance, students will play Dr. Suzuki’s greatest hits as well as fiddle tunes and other songs you may recognize.

5Nashville Film Festival

Regal Green Hills, 3815 Green Hills Village Drive, Nashville

The Nashville Film Festival begins this week with a selection of original films from What Happened to Opryland, the Nashville theme park to Nicole Kidman at the Country Music Hall of Fame discussing Cold Mountain.
