The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office still has open spots for its free October Handgun Shooting and Safety Class. Certified WCSO instructors will teach handgun basics, safety, and range skills, with loaner handguns available for participants.
This three-week course meets Tuesday and Thursday nights and includes two range days. It is designed both for beginners who have never fired a gun and for those looking to strengthen their skills. The program covers fundamentals of shooting, handgun types, safety practices, and what to expect at the range.
Officials emphasize that participants should not purchase a handgun solely to attend the class, as instructors will provide guidance on choosing the right firearm.
Class and Range Location:
WCSO – John I Easley Jr Criminal Justice Center
408 Century Ct, Franklin, TN 37064
The Sheriff’s Office offers the course four times a year in March, May, August, and October. Registration for the October session is now open. Learn more here.
