Franklin Road Academy dropped to 2-3 with a 25-22 homecoming loss to Nashville Christian on Friday.

NCS’s Xavier Myers had three touchdowns and ran for 220 yards.

FRA’s Watson Tansin scored on a 2-yard run with 11:37 left as his team took a 15-12 lead.

After giving that lead back on a Myers 52-yard run, FRA quarterback Eric Stoxstill-Diggs scored on a 33-yard keeper with 3:57 left, as the Panthers led 22-19.

Trailing by a point at the break, the Eagles drove for the go-ahead touchdown with 8:43 left in the third quarter, but missed the extra point to keep the lead at 12-7.

Quarterback Eric Stoxstill-Diggs connected with Lance Wilhoite for a 28-yard touchdown pass, the extra point giving FRA a 7-0 lead with 43 seconds left in the first half.

But Nashville Christian got a touchdown just before half, cutting the lead to one at the break.

Close games are nothing new for the Panthers, who’ve now won by a field goal twice, lost by a field goal once, and now, by a touchdown on Friday.
