Dozens of Williamson County Schools seniors will enter the military after graduating, and the district recognized them at the annual Military Signing Ceremony May 7.
WCS Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney, a retired marine, created the event several years ago to thank those students who will be serving.
“This is one of my favorite events I get to do as a superintendent,” Looney said. “We want to pause and make sure that we recognize these young men and women who’ve decided to serve.”
This year, 52 students heard the call to serve various military branches. Some are entering right after graduating, while others are attending college beforehand.
