Additional Elementary World Language Program (EWLP) Spanish classes are on the schedule for the fall. The deadline to register for classes is August 9.
New class sessions for kindergarten through second grade students are scheduled for Monday afternoons at Edmondson Elementary and Grassland Elementary. New classes are also available for kindergarten through second grade students Wednesday afternoons at Clovercroft Elementary and Pearre Creek Elementary.
EWLP classes aim to teach students how to communicate in languages other than English while increasing their understanding of other cultures. Registered students will take a one-hour class for 12 weeks before or after school. The classes will begin the week of August 26 and run through the week of November 11.
While there are no Chinese classes scheduled at this time, the district is working to hire qualified teachers. It is recommended that parents who are interested in enrolling their child in a Chinese class send an email expressing their interest.
Registration is open to any student entering kindergarten through fifth grade and costs $100 per student.
