If you’re filling up at the pump, fifty cents won’t take you far, but for youth riding the Franklin Transit, fifty cents goes a long way.

The Franklin Transit is bringing back its summer Tweens and Teens discount, allowing youth ages 12 to 18 to ride to any fixed route at half price, which is just fifty cents.

“With today’s challenging economic conditions, parents can save money, gas and time by having their children ride Franklin’s transit service,” said Debbie Henry, Executive Director of Transportation Management Association Group.

Transit routes hit popular spots such as Downtown Franklin, CoolSprings Galleria, The Factory, Franklin Family YMCA, Centennial High School, Williamson County Library, Walmart and many more.

“The fixed routes service the areas of interest, as well as places of summer employment for teenagers. Area parents have found Franklin’s transit service to be safe, affordable and timely transportation for their Tweens and Teens,” Henry said.

The Franklin Transit runs Monday through Saturday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Youth must be at least 12 years old to ride without an accompanying adult.
