The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office is celebrating a milestone with the introduction of its first rescue dogs trained and certified as narcotics detection K-9s for use in local schools.
The three dogs — Nala, Scout and Chet — recently completed their training and will serve alongside School Resource Officers to help strengthen safety in Williamson County schools.
The sheriff’s office recognized Sergeant Amy Fann, Deputies John Bevans and Brandon Rivera, Lieutenant Fann and the SRO K-9 team for the work that made the program possible.
“Together, we’re strengthening school safety, building positive relationships, and giving rescue dogs a chance to make a difference. We couldn’t be prouder of Scout, Chet, and the people behind this incredible program,” the sheriff’s office said.
The sheriff’s office also thanked the Williamson County Animal Center, Snooty Giggles Dog Rescue, Williamson County Schools, Franklin Special School District and the United States Police Canine Association for their partnership and support.
