WCS High Schools Compete in Drive Away Hunger Challenge

Drive Away Hunger Challenge

From WCS inFocus

The race is on, and WCS high schools have until September 28 to collect food for the Drive Away Hunger Challenge.

The schools are competing to see which one can collect the most food. Each school will be judged on how many pounds it collects, and at the end of the three-week challenge period, the totals will be tallied.

Two grand prizes are available: a $1,250 prize for the school that collects the most pounds of food and a $1,250 prize for the school that collects the highest average weight of goods donated per student.

The food that’s collected will benefit organizations like GraceWorks, GraceWorks West, Nolensville Food Pantry and The Well Outreach. Items of need include family-sized boxes of cereal, instant oatmeal variety packs, canned goods, pasta and peanut butter.
