Wake Up Your Taste Buds at Humdingers

If you’re looking for a way to spice up your lunch or dinner, try Humdingers in Brentwood, located right off Franklin Road, near TJ Maxx at 330 Franklin Road. They have a diverse menu of chicken and fish appetizers and entrées, sides, toppings and sauces.

I’m usually one to skip out on appetizers, knowing the entrée will probably be filling enough but the appetizers on Humdingers menu are just too good to refuse—crispy calamari, lemon & herb, hot honey buffalo wings, shrimp and my very favorite–crispy Portobello fries. If you are a fan of Portobello mushrooms, this appetizers is a must try.

For entrée, patrons have a choice of several fish including tilapia, rainbow trout, salmon and mahi mahi. Then, you get to choose between toppings such as pineapple salsa, sautéed mushroom, black bean & corn salsa and even cucumber lime & yogurt.

If you prefer chicken, they’ve got you covered too, with flame grilled chicken breast, crispy tender platters, grilled or crispy chicken sandwiches and wraps. In the sandwich department, I must recommend the Humdingers Chicken Philly, which is stuffed with chicken and vegetables and oozing with flavor.

Choosing a side is as hard as choosing an entrée. Sides include grilled corn on the cob, sweet potato fries, grilled asparagus, grilled zucchini, breadsticks and more. The grilled veggies are grilled to perfection—not soggy and with just the right amount of crunch to them. Te sweet potato fries are simply heaven. You might not expect a chicken and fish restaurant to serve amazing sweet potato fries, but they’ve got sweet potato fries mastered at Humdingers.

What makes Humdingers stand out is their Piri Piri Sauce. Piri Piri is a chili pepper that grows wild in Southern Africa. This pepper is mixed with herbs and oils to create a remarkable flavor with a little kick to it. When you dine in at Humdingers, several bottles of Piri Piri sauce, in varying degrees of heat, will be at your table, so you can test your Piri Piri tolerance.

Humdingers is a great place for the whole family, with fresh, nutritious dishes and several gluten free options. For something different in your day, stop by Humdingers and give your taste buds a wake up call!
