Two Events with Fleet Feet This Friday

Local Company Fleet Feet Sports is hosting two big events this week. Join them for a ladies’ night out, and a blood drive.

ladies-night-fleet-feet-posterOn Friday, June 14th from Noon to 5 p.m., you can donate blood in honor of the Boston tragedy. A portion of Middle Tennessee’s reserves were sent to help Boston Marathon victims. “After Boston, Matt and I talked a lot about ways we can give back – not necessarily as a direct response to a tragedy, but as a regular part of what we do, how we live,” shared Christi Beth Adams, co-owner of Fleet Feet Sports Brentwood.  “We’ve both (Matt & I) given blood in the past and we want to be held accountable to make this simple, yet lifesaving contribution on a regular basis. We hope our friends & customer will be encouraged to do the same!”

Fleet Feet Sports plans to host these blood drives quarterly as a way to remind and empower locals to give back. “Some runners may want to know how it affects their workout. After researching the subject online and from personal experience, I suggest hydrating well the day of and after your donation and taking a rest day from working out the day of. Rest days are a healthy part of training anyway, so why not give up one run to save a life. It’s that meaningful!” Those interested are encouraged to sign up for a time slot here.

Competitor, the Women’s Half Marathon and Fleet Feet Sports are pairing up to host a Ladies Night Out on Friday, June 14th from 6:30pm-9pm at Fleet Feet Sports in Brentwood. The event will feature food, wine, music, giveaways and fun for women of all ages. “Our women specific events are perfect for any woman, regardless of fitness level,” shared FFS Marketing Director, Tammy Sanders.  “I love seeing women of all ages and backgrounds coming together for an evening of fun, food and support for an active lifestyle.”
