Because of the stormy weather there was some storm damage in Brentwood the past few days, Brentwood Fire and Rescue responded to 32 calls for service. To put this into perspective, the department on a normal day responds to just over 8 calls as an average.
Most of the calls were weather related and the department responded to four structure fires during this time. The structure fires were all related to electrical issues due to wind or lightening from the storms.
“It was very fortunate that someone was home in each case and quickly called 911, which helped keep damage to a minimum. The most significant of these incidents occurred on Granny White Pike yesterday afternoon resulting in $10-$15K in damages,” explained Chief Goss.
Crews from the department and city continued to respond to trees and wires down into the evening. At this time the majority of Brentwood residents have had power restored.
