Masonic Lodge-Hiram Lodge to host BBQ during Town & Country Tour of Homes

Each year in June, the Heritage Foundation of Franklin & Williamson County facilitates walk-throughs of the community’s more storied properties. Eleven local property owners will open their doors to host the 39th Annual Town & Country Tour of Homes this year, June 7-8. In honor of the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Franklin, the tour will feature homes and buildings standing on that fateful day, and place a special emphasis on the Civil War tales surrounding the respective property.

The Masonic Lodge-Hiram Lodge #7, (circa 1823-1826) will be hosting a BBQ event to the public on Saturday, June 7 from noon to 6 pm.

Tickets will be available at the door for $10, or $8 in advance from a current lodge member. Tours and historical information about the lodge will be conducted throughout the day by Masons in Civil War outfits.

Proceeds from this event will go to the preservation and restoration of the building. The Masonic Lodge-Hiram Lodge was used as barracks for Union soldiers during wartime occupation during the Civil War, and is believed to be haunted by spirits.
