Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee has named Mary E. Walker as Interim Chief Executive Officer.  Walker also continues to serve as Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee’s Vice President of Programs, a position she has held for the past seven years, leading the social services team in serving record numbers of children.

Before joining the organizations she practiced law for 25 years and served as General Counsel for the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services, an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Tennessee, and Senior Referee for the Davidson County Juvenile Court.  Walker was named the winner of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America Margaret Harris Slack Professional Excellence Award and the U.T. “The Executive Committee of the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee made a unanimous decision that Mary Walker was the ideal choice to lead this agency while we prepare a national search for a permanent CEO,” said Board President Sandy Draper.

Walker accepted this appointment from the agency’s Board of Directors as the former CEO, Lowell Perry, was named as the Vice President of Corporate Partnerships for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
