SOUTH NASHVILLE LL
The boys of the South Nashville LL team continue to climb their way to securing a berth in the 2014 Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA.
After winning two straight in bracket play the past weekend, South Nashville LL will face Taney Youth, the Mid-Atlantic Region champion from Philadelphia on Friday, August 15 at 2 pm. If they win, South Nashville would only be three wins away from a U.S. championship and a berth in the 2014 world championship game.
However, if things go sour and they lose, they face a daunting challenge: needing to win five straight times while facing the elimination bracket. The hardship of that scenario is playing seven games into nine days, a scenario that no one wants to play in.
ESPN will broadcast South Nashville vs. Taney Youth at Lamade Stadium at 3 pm ET/2 pm CT and on the Watch ESPN app.
TENNESSEE TITANS
The Tennessee Titans (1-0) continue their preseason with Game 2 to face the New Orleans Saints (1-0) at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 pm CT on Friday, August 15.
The game will be televised regionally on the Titans Preseason TV Network, including flagship WKRN-Channel 2 in Nashville, and The Titans Radio Network, including 104.5 The Zone.
The Titans started preseason last Saturday at LP Field against the Green Bay Packers. In heavy rain, the Titans overcame turnovers and collected several late touchdowns to beat Green Bay 20-16.
The Saints faced the St. Louis Rams on the road and won 26-24. Quarterback Drew Brees did not play in that game and will not be known yet if he will suit up tonight at home.
