Cyclist Airlifted After 200-Foot Fall Off Cliff in Williamson County

A cyclist was flown to the hospital in critical condition after going over a guardrail and falling about 200 feet down a cliff off Old Highway 96 on Saturday, according to Williamson Fire-Rescue.

Williamson Fire-Rescue assisted Fairview Fire with the high-angle rescue, which required multiple agencies to reach, stabilize and safely recover the injured cyclist from the steep terrain.

Responding agencies included Williamson County Fire/Rescue, the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, Williamson Health EMS, Vanderbilt LifeFlight, Fairview Fire and the Williamson County Emergency Management Agency.

After being rescued, the cyclist was airlifted by Vanderbilt LifeFlight to a hospital in critical condition.
