The 2026-27 school year starts with a half-day for first through twelfth-grade students on Monday, August 10.
Families can find information, including start times, dismissal times, half-day dismissal times and late start or early release times, on the district website.
Elementary schools plus Hillsboro School will have 11 early release Wednesdays throughout the year where students will be released approximately two hours early. Early release days provide teachers within their Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) the opportunity to collaborate and focus on how to better serve their students.
Middle and high schools, except for Hillsboro School, will have 27 late start Mondays or Tuesdays. On these days, classes will begin 45 minutes later than regular school days. During this time, faculty and staff participate in professional learning and work together to improve their teaching skills and evaluate what changes need to be made in order to make their students more successful.
