Centennial Park Conservancy’s free Musicians Corner concert series will return this fall with five weeks of live music beginning Friday, Aug. 28, at Centennial Park.
The multi-genre series will include Free Fest, a three-day Labor Day weekend music festival presented in partnership with Lightning 100, Amazon and the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp. The season will also include a special partnership with AMERICANAFEST on Friday, Sept. 18, offering the community an opportunity to attend official festival showcases at no cost.
“Musicians Corner is the perfect opportunity for the community to gather outdoors with friends and family, enjoying cooler fall temperatures while experiencing free live music in Nashville’s beautiful Centennial Park,” said Justin Branam, executive producer of Musicians Corner in a release.
Branam said organizers are especially excited about the return of Free Fest and the series’ annual collaboration with AMERICANAFEST.
Free Fest brings together Lightning 100 and Musicians Corner, two longtime supporters of Nashville’s live music community. Now in its third year, the festival continues Music City’s tradition of offering free live performances while combining artist selections from both organizations with Musicians Corner’s outdoor concert experience.
The fall series will feature 38 artists representing a variety of genres, including Arlo Parks, Rayland Baxter, Augustana, Buddy Miller, Birdtalker and others.
In addition to live music, the family- and pet-friendly events will feature local food vendors, artisans and Kidsville activities.
“These are the people who have given you Musicians Corner for over a decade — a free, all-ages, world-class concert series that has entertained and inspired thousands,” said Dan Buckley, program director for Lightning 100 WRLT. “Nothing excites me more than joining forces and putting together Free Fest for the third year in a row with them.”
