Zimmerman, Fairview sting Stewart County 51-27

Yellowjackets quarterback Hunter Zimmerman had a field day on Friday night, including three touchdown passes in the second half as Fairview (2-1) stung the Stewart County Rebels (1-2) 51-27.

Things were a lot closer, as the game was tied 7-7 with 6:57 remaining in the first quarter. The Yellowjackets make good on a touchdown two minutes into the second period, and complete a two-point conversion to go on top 15-7.

Stewart Co. would respond on the next possession with their own score to cut the lead to 15-13, until Fairview’s Cameron Ragsdale took off for a 40-yard interception return seconds before halftime. The Yellowjackets went into the locker room up 23-13. From there, the Rebels would never be close again.

Zimmerman would locate receivers Dravon Moore, Joe Kamp and Hunter Caldwell (twice) for touchdown scores, eventually taking the 51-27 victory at home.

Zimmerman completed 14-18 passes for 230 yards and racked up a whopping five touchdowns when it was all said and done.

Fairview’s next game is on the road against Creek Wood on Sept. 12 with a 7:30 pm kickoff.
