You Gotta See This: Heartwarming Ad Features Blind Girl’s Imagined Wizard of Oz

Seven-year-old Emily Groves was born with Glaucoma and later diagnosed with Septo-Optic Dysplasia, an inoperable condition in which the optic nerve does not connect with the brain properly, causing blindness.

But that doesn’t stop Emily from living life to the fullest. She takes the bus to school by herself, knows braille and loves to watch movies. Although Emily can’t see the movies she watches, she envisions them in her mind and when Comcast learned about this vivacious young girl, they were inspired by her and the campaign “Emily’s Oz” was created. “Emily’s Oz” is a 60 second ad for the Talking Guide from Xfinity, television’s first tool to enable the visually impaired to enjoy television. The ad features Emily’s imagined vision of “The Wizard of Oz”

In the video above, you can see Emily’s imagination at play as she describes the beloved characters of Oz.
