Bring your friends, family, flags, signs, and spirit to cheer on Wounded Warriors as they ride through Franklin during the Wounded Warrior Project’s Soldier Ride on Saturday, Sept 26th. Honor our heroes and wounded service members as they participate in a cycling experience at Battle Ground Academy in memory of Master Sergeant James “Tre” Ponder. Opening ceremony begins at 8:30 a.m., and the ride starts at 8:45 a.m.
Soldier Ride is a four-day cycling experience that provides WWP alumni with the unique opportunity to use cycling and the bonds of service to overcome physical, mental, and emotional injuries, according to soldierride.org. Warriors of all ability levels can cycle on Soldier Ride. State-of-the-art adaptive hand cycles, trikes, and bicycles accommodate warriors with various injuries and disabilities, as well as, unmodified road bikes for riders not requiring adaptive equipment are provided free of charge.
