Lady Gamecocks: 6-1 in the SEC
South Carolina has taken over the polls and is going 18-2 overall in its season. The Lady Gamecocks are on top of the SEC with six wins and one loss to top-ranked Texas A&M. However, this Columbia-based team has taken big wins from Kentucky and Vanderbilt.

The Lady Gamecocks scored 46 of 61 points in the paint at Vandy last week to set the best 20-game record in the school’s history, via gamecocksonline.com.

They fall just under North Carolina (17-3), who is one of the two losses for the Lady Gamecocks, undefeated Notre Dame, and 20-1 Louisville.

South Carolina has to face LSU and Tennessee to finish off the season. With its OT loss to the Aggies, anything is possible for this team of talented ladies.

LSU has taken wins from teams like Tennessee, but fallen to Vandy and Texas A&M. This leaves a window of opportunity for the Gamecocks in the first match-up in February.

Tennessee poses as the last regular season game for South Carolina. Between that time, SC will see Kentucky in Lexington. The Wildcats are a tough opponent in women’s basketball. Even though a win was scored earlier in the season, you can bet Kentucky will be ready for ‘round 2’.

We will keep you updated on South Carolina throughout the rest of the NCAA Women’s Basketball season.

MTSU: Seeing Light in the Polls
The AP Top 25 is giving some well-deserved recognition to our one-and-only, Lady Raiders. These local ladies are 17-3 overall and are 1st in Conference USA (6-0).

MTSU has seen some big opponents this season, including Tennessee, Kentucky and Arkansas. The Lady Raiders even took a big win from the SEC’s Mississippi State. The blue-and-white are certainly a team to be reckoned with.

The Tennessee Sports Writers Association elected MTSU’s Ebony Rowe as Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, after becoming the school’s all-time scorer. Rowe broke former player Kim Webb’s record and posted 26-point and 16 rebounds over UTSA, according to goblueraiders.com. This is her fifth award by the TSWA this season and 12th of her entire career.

Needless to say, this Murfreesboro team is full of talent.

The Lady Raiders are on a 16-game winning streak, with their next meet at TSLA.
