“The Tennessee Highway Patrol reports that 35-year-old Michelle Sampson, of Franklin, was killed in the crash and two more victims were flown to area hospitals via helicopter and another two were taken to hospitals for treatment,” reports WKRN.

The fatal crash occurred near mile marker 54 and involved four vehicles. Three of the four were personal vehicles and the fourth was a tractor trailer, reports Tennessee Highway Patrol.

“Sampson’s Jeep and a Nissan sedan were traveling northbound on I-65 when both cars crossed the median and into southbound traffic, according to the THP crash report. Sampson reportedly collided with ta tractor-trailer head-on and both vehicles came to rest in the tree line next to the roadway. The Nissan hit a Hyundai sedan head-on and stopped in the southbound lanes,” reports WKRN.

  1. that’s it? wow, that left me hanging…no cause of the accident, why the north bound vehicles crossed the median into the southboung lanes…if you’re going to write a story…write the whole story…

  2. Yes I would like a full report as well. Was this related to using a device while driving? Drinking and driving???

  3. Never in a million years was this death caused by drinking and driving. Are you so desperate for tawdry, TMZ-esque details that you forget that someone who was loved by many was lost in this tragedy? Awful.

  4. Is there any update to this story? Many are wondering of the official cause of this tragedy. The driver of the Nissan I would think would have information as to why they crossed the median.
