Winter Break Computer Camps for Kids

Williamson County Parks and Recreation (WCPR) has a lineup of three Winter Break computer skills camps in Franklin to spawn creativity and teach new skills.

Campers must be ages 10-17. Computer skills camps are taught by the knowledgeable staff of Youth Tech, Inc. All supplies are provided, including laptops. For more information about Youth Tech, Inc., go to www.youthtechinc.com, or call 877-984-2267.

December 28-31, 2015 – Youth Tech Gaming Academy

Attention all gamers, ages 10-17: This four-day camp will immerse you in the world of 2D and 3D game design. Includes all the material presented in Youth Tech’s Video Game Design, Advanced Game Design and 3D Game Design classes. This camp offers a variety of opportunities for hands-on experience designing and building your own video games. The camp meets Monday through Thursday, December 28-31 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Franklin Recreation Complex, 1120 Hillsboro Rd. Register online at www.wcparksandrec.com. The course is $300 per student.

December 28-29, 2015 – Video Game Design

Have some fun during Winter Break! This course provides an interactive look at the world of video game design and development. Students (ages 10-17) will learn the basics of video game design and produce several different interactive video games to share with family and friends. The camp meets December 28 and 29 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Franklin Recreation Complex. The course is $170 per student.

December 30-31, 2015 – 3D Game Design

Ready to go 3D in game design? This awesome 3D video game design course offers a chance for students to immerse themselves in a 3D world. If you want to learn to design video games like the ones you play at home, this two-day class is for you! This camp meets December 30 and 31 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Franklin Recreation Complex. Video Game Design is a pre-requisite for this course. The course is $160 per student (for ages 10-17).
