The Franklin Art Scene returns to kick off the fall season on Friday, October 7. Guests will enjoy much-anticipated cooler temperatures, while strolling through Historic Downtown Franklin for the free monthly art crawl.

In addition to viewing local works of art, attendees can help support some special causes. The art at the Registry will be sold to benefit Agape Animal Rescue and a painted car – Frank – will be on display at Gallery 202 and auctioned to benefit Franklin’s inner city youth.

Coordinated by the Downtown Franklin Association (DFA), approximately 30 locations in and around downtown will host local artists from 6-9 p.m. Many sites will also offer refreshments, drinks and live music.

Start the fall season out right. On Saturday, October 8th bring the family out to Bowie Nature Park’s Fall Fun Day. The excitement begins at 10am and will go on until 3pm. The event is free and includes fall and nature themed activities for the whole family. $2 Pumpkins for decorating and food will be available for purchase.

Park in the event field behind the playground and follow the signs to begin the fun. Inside the Nature Center you can enjoy making fall crafts and have your face painted. New this year, all of the nature and fall related carnival games will be stationed around a short trail behind the Nature Center. At each game booth children will win prizes or candy.

Children and grown-ups alike are encouraged to wear costumes. There will be a costume parade at 1:00pm. Participating children up to 12 years old will each receive a prize.

The October Sunday Polo in the Park series takes place every Sunday afternoon at the Tractor Supply Arena at Harlinsdale Farm. Sunday, Oct 9 Team USA will face South Africa

General admission is $10. Children 10 and under are admitted free. VIP cabanas and parking are available. Contact 615-800-2268 for pricing and availability. A portion of all ticket and concession sales supports the Friends of Franklin Parks.

This event is designed to bring local writing communities together in their libraries for a live digital gathering featuring a Q&A with writers, agents and industry leaders. Enjoy networking with other local authors and a chance to sign and sell your work.
