Studio Tenn’s season continues at The Factory in Franklin with the Broadway classic “The Elephant Man.” The show opened February 16 and run through February 26.

One of the most famous human prodigies of all time, Joseph Merrick has long been the subject of books, film and theatre. Better known as “The Elephant Man,” the story of Merrick has ushered inspiration and heart-wrenching performances for centuries.

2. Strings & Stories: An Intimate Night of Songwriters Tales

Green’s Grocery in Leipers Fork will hold the 7th Annual Strings & Stories: An Intimate Night of Songwriters’ Tales on Saturday, February 25th with acclaimed songwriter and Nashvillian Barry Dean as the host and headliner.  Dean and Friends will share the stories behind some of country music’s favorite songs in the intimate Green’s Grocery setting at 4345 Old Hillsboro Road in Leipers Fork. The fundraiser event benefits High Hopes Development Center which provides education and therapy to children with special needs,

The event begins at 6 p.m. and includes dinner by Red Pony, wine by Del Rio Wine & Spirits, beer by Czann’s Brewery, and dessert and coffee by Frothy Monkey.

3. Hab-a-Splash

On Saturday, February 25, Habitat for Humanity Williamson-Maury (HFHWM) will hold its second annual Hab-a-Splash! & Winter Festival at the Westhaven Resort Pool at 401 Cheltenham Ave in Franklin, TN. The festival is free and open to the public. In addition, Habitat is seeking plunge participants who are asked to donate or fundraise for the cause.

This fun, family-friendly event will include children’s activities, including face painting by Fantasy Face Artistry; a snow machine; music and games from DJ Louis Lee; and food trucks, including Hoss’ Loaded Burgers, Music City Brisket, and Puckett’s. Visitors can try their hand at shooting pucks with the Junior Predators, launching padded arrows in Deer Run’s hover ball inflatable, dancing with polar bear mascots, and much more!

5.Friends of Fairview Library Semi-Annual Used Book Sale
Thurs, Feb 23rd-Sat, Feb 25th

The sale will be held Thursday and Friday, February 23rd and 24th, from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Saturday, February 25th, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Fairview Recreation Center, 2714 Fairview Blvd., Fairview, Tn.

This sale features categories such as young children, juvenile, non-fiction, and fiction, making it is easy to find those book bargains. Members of the Friends are there to assist you in locating a book related to your specific interest and are happy to give you reading recommendations as well.

As a special feature, there will also be record albums available for purchase for music lovers! Don’t miss out on this unique buying opportunity. Vinyl is back in a BIG way!

In conjunction with the book sale, the Fairview Family and Community Education (fce) Club will graciously be offering a mini “Coffee Shop” during the morning hours of the sale. The highly rated, fair trade, coffee generously donated by First District Coffee Co., delicious homemade baked goods by local bakers and book related crafts from local artisans will all be available to purchase.

All net proceeds from the sale directly benefit the Fairview Branch of the Williamson County Library. Come out and “Buy All the Books”!
