1. Music Country Grand Prix

Country Music Grand Prix

WHAT: The 31st Annual Music Country Grand Prix at Brownland Farm in Franklin takes place Saturday. Benefiting Saddle Up!, the Music Country Grand Prix is a premier equestrian jumping competition featuring top riders and horses from across the nation competing for a $50,000 prize. Since its inception, this event has raised more than $1,800,000 to support Saddle Up!

2. The Great Slider Showdown

Electric Sliders

WHAT: Enjoy delicious sliders created by 10 talented chefs at the second annual Great Slider Showdown at The Factory. The chefs are competing for the Goldens’ Slider Prize as decided on by guest judges. The winning chef will take home $3,000 cash, a brand new Golden’s Cast Iron Cooker and automatic entry into the 2019 World Chef Challenge!

3. Franklin Book Festival

WHAT: The Authors Circle- Mid TN Franklin Book Festival is a new and free literary event set for June 1-2 at Williamson County Main Library, and featuring 48 talented authors leading panel discussions. It is an opportunity for the public, bibliophiles, and new writers to meet their favorite local authors and discuss topics including children’s books, Young Adult, “The Business of Books,” fiction, Christian fiction, nonfiction, anthologies, poetry, and other genres.

WHEN: Saturday, June 1 -Sunday, June 2, 10 a – 5 p

WHERE: Williamson County Public Library, 1314 Columbia Avenue, Franklin

4. National Trails Day with REI and Brentwood Green Space 

 

WHAT: Get outside with REI, Citizens for Brentwood Green Space, Brentwood City Parks, and Nashville Hiking Meetup on National Trails Day to beautify the trails of Brentwood City Parks’ 400-acre crown jewel: Marcella Vivrette Smith Park.

Volunteers will work to provide some much-needed maintenance helping improve the footing and visual appeal of the trails and parkland. There will be projects for all skill levels, children under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Some tools will be provided, but we recommend bringing your favorite pair of gloves and a shovel. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty and bring a reusable water bottle to cut down on our environmental impact for the day. REI will be there with swag and refreshments for all volunteers!

5. Columbia Farmers Market 

WHAT: Columbia Farmers Market is set for its grand opening of the season on Saturday. The event will include a full selection of vendors, music and market promotions.
The market’s overall mission is to provide a place where local farmers and artisans sell high quality, fresh food, and locally crafted specialty products directly to the consumer.
