Williamson Weekend: 5 Happenings This Weekend

1. Music at the Brentwood Library

WHAT: The Williamson County Community Band will present an entertaining afternoon of music at the Brentwood Library, 8109 Concord Road on Saturday, September 14 at 3:00 p.m. This special “big screen, little screen” concert will celebrate the music of the cinema as the band plays favorite movie and television theme songs. This free concert is open to the public.

Sponsored by the Williamson County Parks and Recreation Department, the 65-member band is made up of local amateur and professional musicians ranging in age from pre-teen to upper 80’s and is under the direction of Randy Frame.

2. Harvest Festival at Rippavilla

WHAT: Just in time for the winding down of summer, come out and enjoy the free Harvest Festival and Antique Tractor Show at Rippavilla, while supporting two great nonprofit causes.

This family-friendly event will be jointly hosted from 9 a – 4 p Saturday, Sept. 14, by historic Rippavilla and Spring Hill High School (SHHS) Career Tech Program, with proceeds benefiting both organizations. 

It’s a day to celebrate the harvest as our forefathers did with living history exhibits, including butter churning, basket weaving, stain glass making, and soap making, to name a few. It’s also a unique opportunity to see antique tractors and classic cars on the beautiful sprawling grounds of Rippavilla.

The event will host local bands throughout the day, bringing lively entertainment for all. A variety of food trucks and vendors will have items for sale. There are plans to have yard games for young and old alike.

3. ICCCon at Ag Center

WHAT: The 2nd annual Imperial Commissary Collectors Convention (ICCCon) will take place September 13, 14 and 15 at the Williamson County Ag Expo Center. Fans and collectors from all across the world will again converge in Franklin for a fun-filled weekend featuring movie, stars, autograph signings, video game tournaments, rare vintage collectibles, celebrity panels, activities for kids, cosplay, droids, food, fun and more! Guests scheduled to make an appearance include: Daniel Logan who played a young Boba Fett in Star Wars, Timothy Zahn, author best known for his Heir to the Empire trilogy, James Arnold Taylor, who is the voice of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Pio Koon, and many more. 4. 35th Annual Fairview Nature Fest  

 

WHAT: The 35th Annual NatureFest at Bowie Park takes place September 14th from 10 a –  5 p. The festival will be held at the beautiful 700-acre Bowie Nature Park in Fairview, TN. This year we are celebrating the Honey Bee! Observe a live beehive through glass, learn how to be a beekeeper in your own backyard and how to harvest your own honey, and learn about pollinator-friendly plants! Bring the whole family and enjoy music, living history, free kids games and crafts, hayrides, inflatables, shopping, food and more!

5. Dear Evan Hansen

WHAT: The musical Dear Evan Hansen is making its debut at TPAC with only a few shows remaining. The production announces it will host a digital ticket lottery through Lucky Seat, offering fans the chance to purchase a limited number of $25 tickets per performance.

Lucky Seat will begin accepting entries 48 hours prior to the first performance at TPAC and will be accepted until 9 a.m. CT the day before the performance.

Fans who have been selected will be notified daily via email and can then purchase up to two tickets at $25 each. The ticket lottery will continue on a rolling basis for every performance in the engagement.
