1. Swanky Plank Vintage Marketplace Spring Hill

WHAT: Rippavilla, Inc. will host its annual Swanky Plank Vintage Marketplace, Thursday, May 31 to June 2, with ticket sales benefiting historic restoration efforts.

This annual three-day event features vendors of vintage, antique and repurposed items, and handmade goods, on the historic grounds of Rippavilla. There will be food trucks, along with live music by Music City Strings, Elvis Shrugged, Damien Boggs, and Spur of the Moment.

General admission to Swanky Plank is $7 per day for Friday, June 1, or Saturday, June 2, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Present your Swanky Plank ticket at the mansion door and receive a tour for only $5.

2. Music Country Grand Prix

The 2018 Tractor Supply Company Music Country Grand Prix, Middle Tennessee’s premier equestrian show jumping competition, will take place Saturday, June 2, at Brownland Farm in Franklin. General admission is $15; children under 10 enter free.For more information, please visit the website, www.musiccountrygrandprix.com.

3. Kids Art Festival

WHAT:The fourth annual Kids Arts Festival of Tennessee is scheduled for this Saturday, June 2nd, at Pinkerton Park. The Festival, a joint venture between the City of Franklin Parks Department and the Williamson County Cultural Arts Commission is from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. and is free and open to the public.

The Festival will offer many opportunities for school-aged artists of Franklin, and surrounding communities, including a juried art exhibit, hand-crafted art for sale, stage performances, master classes, art stops to experience and create unique art, and more! Youth artists participating in the hand-crafted art sale will be mentored by participating professional art vendors. Student art will be displayed throughout the event, judged, and winners presented cash awards, as well as the opportunity to exhibit in Franklin City Hall throughout the summer months. Participants will have the opportunity to develop new artistic skills and talents from professional artists through master classes.

4. Lucky Ladd Farm Hosts Kids Construction Day

WHAT: Get your hard hats on and gear up for some big-time fun with some oversized toys! A special construction site will be ready for operation. Kids can help Digger Dan operate a real excavator, move sand, climb on a bulldozer and explore other farm and construction equipment. Plus fun activity centers to practice skills of trade, life size Jenga games and giant Lincoln log building sets. Closed-toe shoes REQUIRED for participation.

5. Beer Quest at Owl’s Hill

WHAT: Join Jackalope Brewing Company and Owl’s Hill Nature Sanctuary for the Beer Quest II, a two-hour hike around Owl’s Hill Nature Sanctuary’s hiking trails on Saturday, June 2nd.

Hikers can use a map OR use GPS to help navigate the 3-mile trail, where you’ll collect tokens along your quest. Tokens are to be redeemed at the end of the quest for beer samples under Owl’s Hill Pavilion. Purchase tickets online here.
