1. The Mafia Experience at Franklin Theatre

WHAT: Backlight Productions presents a game of “Mafia” as never played before. Professional actors conduct a unique and thrilling mass game of “whodunit?”; an event in support of the non-profit, Backlight Productions, theater arts for adults with special needs. The game will showcase Backlight students performing alongside professional actors but also include audience participants as they seek to weed out the “guilty” amongst the “innocent”. There are three tier level tickets- interactive, semi-interactive, and observational.

2. Spring Hill Hot Air Balloon Spooktacular

WHAT: The 2nd Annual Spring Hill Hot Air Balloon Spooktacular brought to you by Middle Tennessee Hot Air Adventures, LLC will be hosted at the Tennessee Children’s Home Oct 26 at 3p. Attendees can enjoy live music, pumpkin decorating, food trucks, craft vendors, and more. Tethered balloon rides will be available pending on weather conditions.

Tickets are $15 at the gate. Children under the age of 5 are free.

3. Franklin Wine Festival

WHAT: Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee brings back the 15th annual Franklin Wine Festival on October 25, 2019, from 7:00 -10:00 p.m. at the Factory in Franklin. The Franklin Wine Festival offers a truly exceptional wine tasting of more than 300 world-class vintages paired with offerings from 30 top local restaurants creating a one-of-a-kind evening.

All proceeds from the Franklin Wine Festival benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee and allow the organization to offer mentoring programs to young people throughout Middle Tennessee. To date, the annual event has raised over $2 Million for the charity.

4. Brentwood Library Book Sale

WHAT: The Friends of the Brentwood Library will be holding their quarterly book sale this weekend at the John P. Holt Brentwood Library. Join as a Friend and gain early entrance from 9 to 10 am Friday morning, an hour before the general public. (Membership forms are available at the library circulation desk, or join at the book sale.)

Thousands of books of all kinds are on offer at the sale: fiction, non-fiction, children’s, teens, classics, reference books, paperbacks, cookbooks and coffee table books. The sale also includes audiovisual material, including DVDs, CDs and audiobooks. Prices for all items range from $0.50 to $3.00, with some vintage books and DVDs priced slightly higher. Children’s books range from $0.50 to $2.00. Sunday is Half Price Day on everything.

5. Meet “Mary Ann” from Gilligan’s Island

WHAT: Texan country crooner Ben Stafford Rodgers and legendary actress Dawn Wells, known for her iconic role as Mary Ann Summers on the CBS sitcom “Gilligan’s Island,” will appear at the Nashville Palace on Friday, Oct. 25. Admission to the show also includes a meet and greet opportunity with Wells, who will introduce Rodgers’s performance.
