The principal of Heritage Middle School in Thompson’s Station sent an e-mail out to parents on Thursday about an incident that occurred there involving clowns.
“A student brought in a clown costume, put it on, and ran around the gym,” read the e-mail.
It was an eighth grader.
“With current social media attention and threats to clowns, this behavior is especially disruptive,” she wrote. “We won’t tolerate disruptive behavior on our campus, and we will take the appropriate disciplinary action.”
The e-mail was sent out to parents.
The e-mail went on to say that with all the attention to clowns, wearing a clown costume in the community might not be a safe choice.
