Williamson Medical Center’s EMS win awards

The Williamson Medical Center (WMC) and Brentwood Fire Department were recently awarded the Star of Life award for Region V in Tennessee. This joint awarding occurred during Emergency Services Week at the Renaissance hotel in Nashville on May 23rd. Three WMC EMS team members also received individual awards.

“Helping people is what EMS is all about,” said Allen Lovett, director of the WMC EMS team. “The theme for EMS week this year was ‘one mission, one team,’ and it definitely takes a team to do our jobs, from the citizens who call 911, to those trained in medical priority dispatch, to the first responders to the medical personnel at the hospital. We are all part of one big team and our collective goal is to get people back home after an event in as good a condition as can be.”

Drew Hooker, Paramedic; Tim Blem, EMT-IV; Michael Wallace, CCPM-EMS Operations Manager, all with the Williamson Medical Center EMS team, were awarded and EMS Operations Manager Michael Wallace commented, “The relentless dedication and focus of these exceptional people makes a difference beyond measure in the life of our community and the people they serve. I am privileged to be a part of such a great team.”
