It has been an exciting week for Williamson County with the rock slide on I-840 that luckily injured no one. The stretch between Peytonsville-Trinity Road and I-65 was closed for a few hours until the roadway could be cleared of large rocks and parts of a passing semi-truck that was caught in the fall.

Franklin Police saw their share of action as a routine stop at a local business landed a convicted felon back in bars. A thief in Alabama stole from the Academy Sports there; it was reported to local police by a loss prevention officer. Surveillance was started at the store and two hours later the culprit showed up presumably to do the same thing here. He was promptly placed under arrest. Well done guys.

A County Deputy Sheriff was in the right place at the right time to prevent a suicide. Deputy Telayna Luttrell was on patrol recently and talked a woman off the rail of the Natchez Trace Parkway Bridge. The woman agreed to seek treatment help after talking with Luttrell and was safely taken away by ambulance. There have been at least 14 reported suicide attempts from the bridge since 2000. Thanks for keeping that number from climbing Deputy Luttrell.

The Factory Is Being Sold

The announcement of The Factory being sold for $24.2 million dollars was Big News. It looks like birthday number 70 was a magic number for Calvin Lehew. He has been in the news a great deal this year and now sells his pride and joy to a Bowling Green Ky. Group.

And last but not least, it’s time for the Franklin High School 30th Reunion for the Class of 1982. Saturday August 4th at the Embassy Suites in Cool Springs from 7 P.M. to Midnight the memories will flow. Tickets are $55 in advance or $65 at the door, with food provided and “DJ Louie” spinning the hits.
