On Monday, May 20th in the auditorium of the administrative complex for Williamson County Schools, 19 seniors raised their hand and answered the call to service from our American military branches. Dr. Mike Looney was on hand to address the newly enlisted soldiers and their families.
More than 40 students have chosen to join the military upon leaving Williamson County High Schools. Those present on Monday at 4 p.m. raised their hands and took the oath of service after signing their paperwork which takes them on the next journey of their lives. The following students were present for the ceremony.
From Brentwood High were Eric William Hoff, Cody Robert Brown and Devin Easley.
Representing Centennial Hugh was James Alex Sigler.
Fairview High brought forth Zach Calleo, Darian Grishaber, and Celina Ferrell.
Franklin High produced Colton Morrison
Independence High had the most present with Jordan Davis Barnard, Sean Patrick Linn, Justin Daniel Barnard, Andrew William Fox, Austin Garrett Garcia, Oliver Carson LaCroix and Jalen Austin Wade.
Page High students were Zach Weiland and Nathan Sizemore.
Ravenwood High enlistees were Jordan Sine and Samantha Matthews.
In total the Army will gain 5 soldiers, the Navy 17, the Air Force 5 and the Marines 9. Also West Point accepted two students Jonathan Burton Dencker from Brentwood and James Negley from Franklin. The Naval Academy accepted Jalen Austin Wade from Independence. Two more students went to the Coast Guard Academy, Akshay Patel and Robert Colson Patton.
