Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Launches Anonymous Text Tips App

Tip 411

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office is using a new tool that allows the public to share important public safety information anonymously with law enforcement by sending them a secure text message about crimes or suspicious activity in our county.

The WCSO  has launched tip411, an internet-based tool that enables the public to text message an anonymous tip to law enforcement.

Used by more than 1,200 communities throughout the U.S., tip411 enables anyone with a cell phone to text anonymous tips to authorized personnel within an agency.  These tips are received in real time and can be responded to in seconds via an interface that allows for secure web and text-based conversations. The tip411 system is 100% anonymous.  Its technology removes all identifying information and there is NO way to identify the sender.

Anyone with a cell phone may send an anonymous tip to WCSO by texting TIPWCSO and a message or tip to 847411(tip411). Anonymous tips can also be submitted from the WCSO website at http://www.williamsoncounty- tn.gov/1780/Tip-411.

“We believe the public is one of our greatest law enforcement resources,” said Sheriff Jeff Long.  “Using tip411 allows a safe and secure way for the community to share important information with us without the fear of retribution.”
